Thank you for visiting my blog!

I am a 1st year English PhD student at Cornell studying medieval literature and languages. I am continually interested in the history and philosophy of languages, and how literature, through language, expresses the cultural milieu and preoccupations of society. I focus on Old English, Middle English, classical and medieval Latin, Old French, and Old Norse language and literature. I am particularly interested in how authors and characters understand emotions and the role that emotions play in life, as well as the intersection between gender and medicine and the social conventions that structure these ideas.

As this is what I study in my everyday life, much of my writing will relate to these topics, but I like to think I still have a life outside of my studies so my blog will also deal with my other interests such as music, running, and Dungeons & Dragons. I am an avid listener of Jam band music and am currently brainstorming a homebrewed TTRPG (Tabletop Roleplaying Game) that brings the musical world of Phish alive as a playable fantasy world, so I will likely be writing on creative projects like this from time to time as well.
